Leeds Goes Cuban Fury Crazy!

If you’ve ever considered learning salsa in Leeds, there has never been a better time to get involved. To celebrate the release of Cuban Fury on Valentine’s day, we are throwing a series of Cuban Fury themed fiestas in the week leading up to the 14th.

Involving all of the biggest salsa schools in Leeds centre and beyond, this is an event you cannot miss. Each event will have fun, games, dancing and prizes to give away- including DVDs, T-shirts and posters.

You can attend a salsa event on 6 nights during this week, so you have no excuse not to get down and join in the fun!

The events are:

Monday Night at 7:30 pm is at the Spice Bar with Theo

Theo is one of the most internationally recognised teachers in Leeds, as well as being a winner of the UK Open Salsa championships in years past. His classes in the Spice Bar (downstairs from the Spice Quarter) every Monday night attract a loyal crowd for his funky mix of Salsa and Kizomba beats… Beginners class is at 8pm; Improvers at 9pm.

Classes are £5 for 1 or £8 for 2.

Tuesday Night at 7:30pm is at Baracoa With Tropikal con Salsa and Julien and Jacqueline.

Julien brings his own unique style of Carribean infused salsa to the floor, with Jacqueline teaching Beginners at 7:30 and 8:30, and Julien teaching Improvers at 7:30 and Intermediate at 8:30. Baracoa has one of the biggest dance floors in Leeds, and they need all of it for this fun class! After the classes finish Salsa Rocks play smoking tunes to keep you dancing all night. Wednesday Night at 7pm at Havana Bar with StreetSalsa.

Street Salsa are the big new thing on the Leeds Salsa scene! They focus on the fun in salsa (salsa is always fun!) and they have a strong following, especially among students! The beginners class runs from 7 to 8 pm, with beginners social dancing after.

Entry is £5.

Thursday night is at 7:30 at Baracoa with Fuego Latino and Nicolai and Helena.

Friday heralds the release of Cuban Fury which you should definitely go and see.

Saturday brings the grand finale to this week of Cuban Fury fun with the Cuban Fury post release party at Seven Bar.

This is the ultimate night for anyone curious to find out what the salsa scene is all about. The Rumba Picante party room oozes the full atmosphere of a true Latino house party, and the Salsa Rocks dance room is available for those who want to see, or do, some amazing dancing.

Entry is £6, or £5 for students.
